Rock the Universe Night of Joy Disney's Hollywood Studios

The Universal Plaza is a brand new reworking of the old Yard stage. The stage was opened during the summer of 2009 and added an enclosed performance space for the musicians. Hollywood, Rip, Ride and Rockit, Universal's newest rollercoaster travels directly over this venue. This stage took the place of the New York Stage that had been used during Rock the Universe performances form 1998 through 2003. Seating is standing room only and there is no nearby area for rest or cover from inclimate weather. This tends to be the main stage and usually has the last performance of the night. This is also where the candlelight vigil usually took place at the end of Saturday night's event to close out each year's Rock the Universe. For Rock the Universe 2011 the Candlelight Ceremony will be held at the end of each night of the event. |
