of Joy Artists Night of Joy 1983 |
Night of Joy was starting in the
1970s at Disneyland. Since 1983 Night of Joy has been held at Walt Disney
World. Originally taking place at the Magic Kingdom, the event has
also been held at Disney's Hollywood Studios in 2010 and 2011, and
during 2016 is being held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports
complex. The top names in Christian music
have always been a part of this event. From Leon Patillo and
Petra
at the first Night of Joy to Casting
Crowns and MercyMe (as of 2016 the current
record holder of the most appearances at Night of Joy). On the links to the left you will
find a listing of all the performers at each Night of Joy event and at
what time and on what stage each performer appeared. Any
significant highlight from each event will all be listed under each
specific year.
Since Night of Joy 2010, Celebration Ministries has sponsored a Talent Spotlight highlighting up and coming acts that participated in competitions, usually held in August, to earn a short performance on a small stage at Night of Joy. The stage has been different at each Night of Joy so far changing from the Jedi Training Academy Stage, the Premier Stage, the Caribbean Stage, and the Diamond Horseshoe.
