Universal Studios has announced official performers. Since Rock the Universe 2011, a first at any of Universal's special events, music from this year's performers will be available as a choice on the Rip Ride and Rockit roller coaster. Bands that will be participating include Switchfoot, Newsboys, and Casting Crowns. New for this year, on May 2 a battle of the bands will be held at Universal's sister water park Wet N Wild's Waves of Glory event. The winner of the event will be a performer during this year's event.
