Petra was the premiere Christian rock band.  They helped prove that Christians were not buttoned up church song singing nerds.  They proved that they could rock just as hard as any other rock band.  God Gave Rock and Roll to You has become one of  the greatest of all Christian rock anthems.  They are also one of the longest running groups in all popular music, starting in the seventies and continued  performing during 2005 which was their last year of touring.  Their newest album is produced by the Newsboy's record label InPop.  The album features the return of founding member Bob Hartman on lead guitar.  Bob Hartman and John W Schlitt was currently touring as Two Guys From Petra.
